About

I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Princeton School of Public & International Affairs (SPIA) at the Center for Policy Research on Energy & the Environment (C-PREE) directed by Dr. Michael Oppenheimer. I conduct collaborative, applied research on equitable climate adaptation and administrative law – linking interdisciplinary topics in multi-level regulatory governance, urban planning, environmental justice, climate/environmental data stewardship, and decision sciences.

I completed my PhD in the Science, Technology, & Environmental Policy program at Princeton SPIA in 2026. My dissertation was titled "Administrative Policy Pathways toward Equitable Climate Adaptation: Governance, Funding, & Policy Preferences". I was advised by Drs. Michael Oppenheimer and Elke Weber, with additional support from Drs. Eric Tate and Robert Kopp on my dissertation committee.

I am actively involved in community-based and co-produced work, including with: the Megalopolitan Coastal Transformation Hub (MACH) consortium housed at Rutgers; the NYC Resilient Coastal Communities Project housed at Columbia; and a consortium of researchers, practitioners, and advocates collaborating in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' NY/NJ Harbor and Tributaries Study (HATS) region – with a current focus on compound flooding.

During my graduate studies, I also regularly served as the lead instructor for a co-taught Climate and Environmental Justice course with the NJ Prison Teaching Initiative, and previously worked as a Graduate Fellow at the NYC Mayor's Office of Climate & Environmental Justice. I was also twice the Assistant Instructor (aka preceptor) for an undergraduate course titled, The Environment: Science and Policy. In 2023, I also participated in the prestigious Young Scientists Summer Program at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in Vienna with other PhD students from around the world.

I am also interested in environmentally-just waste management and an end to the uneven siting and cumulative impacts of hazardous waste facilities – and have been involved in anti-incineration campaigns, local composting program development, and zero waste education. Additionally, I am fascinated by the dynamics of international climate negotiations, and have taught and led university observer delegations to the annual UNFCCC COP.

Prior to my PhD, I served for 5 years as the first Sustainability Program Manager at Swarthmore College, PA, helping to launch the Office of Sustainability and to facilitate environmental and climate institutional decision-making while reporting to C-suite administrators. I spearheaded myriad initiatives related to zero waste and environmental justice, decarbonization of campus energy systems, climate science communication, engagement with international climate negotiations, and local community partnerships. This was a new, growing office – and I was, at first, its sole staff member. My work therefore entailed substantial budget management, institutional strategic planning, staff hiring & oversight, large-scale project implementation, committee leadership, event planning, and extensive public speaking. I also supported the establishment of Environmental Studies as an academic major (it had previously only been a minor), including by assisting with course development and faculty hiring.

While working full-time at Swarthmore, I completed a part-time, executive master's degree in Sustainable Urban Development from the University of Oxford in 2019. I also received a BA in Psychology from Swarthmore in 2014, and subsequently worked as a full-time Research Assistant at the Earth Institute at Columbia University. My hobbies include practicing languages (Spanish & Korean), cooking & eating new food, kayaking & being outdoors, crocheting, and reading/watching sci-fi.
